it's been awhile, hasn't it?
dear oh dear. i've become that girl who stays late at work and fills her weekends too full.
then suddenly, everything is too full and too much and all you can do is sit, and write, and wish for sleep to come find you.
the truth is i haven't been sleeping well, and i've only had 2 reasonable dinners this week. cheerios and chips do not bode well for nutrition. stress, i tell you, stress.
- stress about the future. the unknown. the big decisions to make, and the weight of making them.
- stress about not getting enough sleep, and then being too tired to functionally wake up, and then scrambling into work {so very late} with a weary attitude and grumbling stomach.
- stress about gas prices and the state of my laundry pile.
- stress about outgrowing friends, or being outgrown by them.
- stress about feeling stuck, left behind in a sense, and not knowing which way is up as water envelopes your senses and logic and calmness.
- stress about how to fully forgive someone and be a better person, when often times it is easier to be angry.
stress, stress, stress.
but driving through the greening valley of salt lake, and waking up in my childhood bedroom, and shopping at city creek somehow melted the stress, if but for a moment. i realized how incredibly blessed i am.
- i saw old, good friends on several occasions-- conference, tacos, a bridal shower, and a final hoorah before a baby boy enters the world this week.
- gyros @ mad greek with the parentals. oh heavens, delish.
- my manager brought me back bangals from jordan! {the country}
- experienced titanic in 3D with some girl friends, aaaand i loved it. my heart will go on, leo.
- burritos at chipotle with j. we exchanged stories, i spouted off my opinions on important issues, and he listened. then, lo and behold, we saw fishies galor (@ the aquarium in cabela's)
- baked the best cupcakes, yet! plus, my momma shared her secret to good frosting (add a little crisco-- it makes it fluffy!)
- and last but not least, i went shopping. h&m. need i say more?
